Video Marketing - Why Change is Good

One of the challenges when producing marketing videos for your business is having a place to make your videos. My suggestion, and what I do, is constantly experiment and change things up. https://youtu.be/7as9LR80rEw

If you can, then set up a dedicated video “studio,” even if it’s just a quiet area in your office.

But don’t be afraid to play around and try new things. You may discover something you didn’t know that works great.

You will certainly get experience in shooting your videos in different conditions, which means you’re learning and improving.

Just remember that whatever you do, think about what impression you are giving to your customers.

For example, unless you’re in the wine industry, it’s probably not a good idea to have empty bottles of booze lying around in the background.

Anyway, the point is you need to experiment and that change can be a good thing and will help you produce better marketing videos for your business.

What are some things you’ve done differently or experimented with that lead to something unexpected… in a good way?

How Video Content Marketing Empowers Customers

One of the most powerful things about video is the ability to empower people through learning and inspiring action. I know that personally, I’ve been influenced and have learned from many people and the invaluable content they have created and shared through video. It’s why I so strongly believe in the power of video to empower people, to empower your customers and clients. https://youtu.be/dhMd5llQodY

A very simple way to use video marketing to empower your customers is to show them better ways to use the tools you provide. Your tool may be a product or a service that your customers only use at a basic level. And that may be more than enough.

But if you can open their eyes to other possibilities, you empower those people to do more, to be better, to enjoy your product or service even more. Powerful stuff.

This week’s video for Edutige is a simple way to empower our customers. Many people use our microphones for recording audio, such as bird songs, but may not know other audio recording apps beyond the iPhone’s built in Voice Memos app.

So to help our customers get better quality audio, the video shows them a comparison between the iOS Voice Memos app and a favourite of mine, Twisted Wave.

Check out the video that comes after my talk about how video content marketing can empower customers and see how simple and easy it can be to use video in this way.

Let me your thoughts and experience about empowering customers, too.

What’s the Best Camera for Producing Marketing Videos?

A rather obvious thing when you get into video marketing is that you need a camera to make your marketing videos with. But what do you use? What’s the best camera for producing marketing videos with? Check out the video to hear what I suggest. The main point I want you to take away, though, is that a camera is just a tool.

And as with any tool, the more proficient you are at using that tool, the better your results will be.

Let me know if you have any questions about cameras or other equipment for producing your video marketing content.

If You Don't Do This Your Videos Will Stink

If you are making videos to market your business, congratulations! Video content marketing can really help to market your products or services and is a great way to build your brand. But if you’re just getting started, or you’ve been making videos for a while, you’ll likely discover in your research the importance of one thing when it comes to creating videos that your customers will actually watch: Audio. If you didn’t know that, or if you are curious just how important good audio is to your marketing videos, check out the video and listen to the difference between using the camera’s built in microphone vs a proper microphone.

Video marketing isn’t hard, but there are some essentials that you can’t skimp on, such as audio. Poor video can sometimes be tolerated if the content is good, but if your audio is subpar there’s an overall stinkyness that just cannot be masked.

So video content marketing is cool. Do it. But do it right by also investing in a proper audio solution.

If you need help choosing something to record your videos with, let me know. Also let me know if you have experience with this and what you are currently using.

Video Content Marketing - Why People Want to do Business with People

No matter what business you are in, you have to do business with people. And most of the time, it’s your relationship with people that determines how well your business performs. That’s why using videos can be such a powerful tool. Videos allow customers and prospects to get to know you and, hopefully, like you before, while and after they do business with you. Video content marketing lets you put a face to your business that customers can identify with and feel a sense of rapport with. Videos with you in them help your business separate itself from the many faceless companies people normally deal with.

It’s well-known that people like doing business with people they know, like and trust and video marketing gives you a powerful tool build and maintain that relationship.

Check out the video for more info and let me know your thoughts on what video can do to build relationships.

Learning is...

Being a dad has made me want to be better in every way because I know that my kid is watching and learning from me and his mom. And one of the things we hope he gets from us is a love of learning and always trying to improve yourself. This little video is something I put together for my son's website, How To Do Stuff With Ethan, to hopefully inspire other children to want to learn and to also encourage parents.

Video Content Marketing - How Little Details Add Life to an Explainer Video

When you get a video made, it can be hard to know whether or not the video will be of good quality for whether or not the person making the video is professional. One way you can tell is by looking at one of the little details that can add life to an explainer video. Check out the video to learn about what this little detail is so you will know what to look for when hiring somebody to make and explain a video for your business. https://youtu.be/aWN8tdRNlRM

Video Content Marketing - Time Saving Technique to Produce Videos

If you find it challenging to produce marketing videos for your business on a regular basis, then consider batch recording your videos. What you do is prepare 5-10 ideas or topics you want to talk about and film all of the videos in one sitting. Not only will this save time, but it helps you get into a groove when making the videos. You may find yourself thinking about new ideas, easily referencing what you said in another video and maybe, wanting to do more! Batch recording your videos can allow you to outsource the editing, schedule all the videos to be posted and let you get on with other parts of your business. Video content marketing doesn’t have to be hard, especially when you use a time saving technique like batch recording. Good luck!

Simple Performance Tip to Give a Good Presentation [VIDEO]

One of the biggest challenges when giving a presentation is overcoming performance anxiety, for lack of a better term. So in this latest presentation tips video, I go over a simple technique that has helped me and that will hopefully, help others improve their presentation skills. Originally posted at: http://presentationexpressions.com/simple-performance-tip-to-give-a-good-presentation-video

If you are feeling anxious about giving a presentation or you’re nervous about how you will perform, then this video is for you. Giving a presentation can be thought of as a sort of performance. Think about it… You need to stand in front of a group of people, maintain their attention and hopefully, achieve the result you want.

It’s a performance

Any time you are standing in front of a group of people and talking to them, you are giving a sort of performance. And a performance requires you to play a certain role because you can’t necessarily just be yourself, or just let the content do the talking for you. If you treat the presentation like a performance and you are playing a certain role, it can help make your presentation much more interesting and engaging.

Who are you?

Decide what role or character you need to be when giving your presentation. You can be yourself, but think about adding something unique to this role you’re going to play.

Preparing for your role

A simple way to prepare for your role is to find a person, fictional or a real person, who has the same characteristics you want in your role when you give your presentation. Characters in movies and TV shows are always a good source of inspiration. But be careful not to copy that character. Instead, take what they do and somehow make it your own.

A presentation is a performance. It’s your time to shine. Why not give yourself a chance to do that and stand above everyone else?

Thanks and good luck.
