CGC (Corporate Giving Connection) Explainer Video

Here’s an animated explainer video for CGC, a company that provides marketing and fundraising support to non-profits. I often say how fortunate I am to work with great people, and I’m going to say it again because the people at CGC (Corporate Giving Connection) were awesome.

https://youtu.be/mwskgcHe7M0

I worked directly with Jen Linck, who made my job easy by being easy to talk to, clear in her communications and open to ideas. This explainer video for CGC highlights a key problem faced by non-profit managers… Not having enough bandwidth to get everything done.

The challenge with this particular video was identifying the correct target audience and thinking about how to communicate that we understand them and have a solution for them without sounding patronizing or over-promising what CGC can do. CGC can do so many different things for non-profits and there are so many scenarios that we could have talked about.

The key is to always focus on the viewer and keep the pace moving. Often times, videos of all types, not just explainer videos, drag on for just a bit too long. We have to remember that viewers can easily click away and that the video has to keep them engaged long enough to get your message across and for the viewer to take action.

And that call-to-action is also important to have. Sometimes, I’ll see explainer videos without a clear call-to-action and it’s painful because I know that the business owner is banking on the video to help him/her.

So always be sure to include a clear call-to-action at the end of your explainer videos so your viewer knows what they are supposed to do.

Ultimate Leader Online Course Explainer Video

Here’s the first in a series of explainer videos that describe a leadership training program created by one of my favourite clients, Dr. Mary Kay Whitaker. An explainer video for your business is a great way to show your customers and clients what you do in a very easy to watch format. Live videos are great, but sometimes, an animated video is more effective because your audience focuses on the story and message more so than the person or people in the video. Animated explainer videos are non-threatening because they are basically, a cartoon.

And that’s the key benefit of using an explainer video to market your business: The message your business wants to convey comes through.

For this explainer video, I wrote the script, did the voiceover and produced the final animated video.

What’s the Best Camera for Producing Marketing Videos?

A rather obvious thing when you get into video marketing is that you need a camera to make your marketing videos with. But what do you use? What’s the best camera for producing marketing videos with? Check out the video to hear what I suggest. The main point I want you to take away, though, is that a camera is just a tool.

And as with any tool, the more proficient you are at using that tool, the better your results will be.

Let me know if you have any questions about cameras or other equipment for producing your video marketing content.

Thanks.

Don't Take This Lightly When Making Marketing Videos

Making marketing videos is awesome for your business. Yes, it takes work and perseverance, but so does anything worth doing for your business to be successful. That’s why it’s important to have a handle on some basic video production to ensure your content marketing videos are watchable and worth your time and effort. In this video you’ll see how important one key element of video production is to overall quality of your video. It is not to be taken “lightly.” 😃

https://youtu.be/5qADFipvJXk

Marketing videos for your business, in particular if you’re a small business, can help separate you from your competitors by demonstrating authenticity, authority in your industry and trustworthiness. Don’t let easy to correct mistakes in producing your videos put a leg hold on those benefits.

If You Don't Do This Your Videos Will Stink

If you are making videos to market your business, congratulations! Video content marketing can really help to market your products or services and is a great way to build your brand. But if you’re just getting started, or you’ve been making videos for a while, you’ll likely discover in your research the importance of one thing when it comes to creating videos that your customers will actually watch: Audio. If you didn’t know that, or if you are curious just how important good audio is to your marketing videos, check out the video and listen to the difference between using the camera’s built in microphone vs a proper microphone.

https://youtu.be/uuzyZmOL4xc

Video marketing isn’t hard, but there are some essentials that you can’t skimp on, such as audio. Poor video can sometimes be tolerated if the content is good, but if your audio is subpar there’s an overall stinkyness that just cannot be masked.

So video content marketing is cool. Do it. But do it right by also investing in a proper audio solution.

If you need help choosing something to record your videos with, let me know. Also let me know if you have experience with this and what you are currently using.

Video Content Marketing for Edutige - Basic How to Videos

How to videos are always a great way to create video marketing content. But those how to videos don’t always have to be specific to your product. For example, in the following video for Edutige, I wanted to teach people how to do something that I see a lot of people doing incorrectly. A lot of people improperly put on a lavalier microphone. Is it a big deal? Kind of.

https://youtu.be/BjMg--3-SxI

The big reason is that it looks unprofessional and not only that, but it’s a clear sign of amateur video. I know this is important to our customers because the whole point in using an external lapel mic is to improve production value.

I often hear people saying they want their videos to look and sound more professional. And while a lavalier microphone will do that, it’s in the small details, such as putting on the mic properly, that are that last little step towards a more professional, polished video.

So that’s why a little how to video such as this can help customers, even if the video is not specifically about a product or service you are offering. It’s a great way to add value and build trust with your target audience.

What kind of how to topics can you think of that are not related to a product or service?

Post on Edutige’s website: http://www.edutige.net/properly-put-lavalier-microphone/

How to Properly Put On a Lavalier Microphone

It’s great that so many people have bought our lavalier microphones and upped the audio quality and overall production value of their videos. I love it. But what I don’t love is seeing how very few people actually know how to put a lavalier microphone on properly.

So to remedy that, check out this week’s video and be sure I don’t catch you doing it wrong from now on :)

Have fun and good luck.

The Winright Way Culture Video for Winright Law

One of my favourite clients is Winright Law. They are just really good people who genuinely care about their clients and who always put their clients' needs first. They are just really great people and I'm happy to be able to work with them. https://youtu.be/HZaU55aM3_Y

The goal of this video is to demonstrate the corporate culture at Winright Law. It was a lot of fun to make this. The footage was collected over several months and eventually pieced together into the video you see here.

Corporate culture videos are an important type of content you should consider adding because they demonstrate to your customers and clients the type of people they are dealing with.

And as I've mentioned on several occasions, videos like this are a great way to show off who you are so that your customers develop a sense of rapport and a relationship with you even before they actually meet you.

It's also a great way for customers to feel good about having dealt with you if they see this type of video after. It reassures them that they made the right choice.

Video Content Marketing for Edutige: How a Video Series Helps Customers

One way to create video content is by producing a series of videos about a particular topic. In this case, I’ve made three videos covering different microphones that can be connected to an iPhone using the Apple Lightning to headphone adapter cable. The purpose was to reassure people that their microphones can work with the iPhone 7’s Lightning port; in other words, it was a way to reduce the fear and anxiety of the unknown. Video content marketing is first and foremost about educating your customers or clients, helping them get over any fears or apprehensions they may have about doing business with you, or seeking you out to help them. Yes, videos can be used to build your brand but that’s only scratching the surface because those videos don’t always demonstrate the real value your business provides. At least that’s the way I see it.

What about you? How could video content marketing be used in your industry?

https://youtu.be/1H7k6BckHY4

The post from Edutige is here: http://www.edutige.net/edutige-eim-001-external-microphone-iphone-using-lightning-adapter/

http://www.edutige.net The EIM-001 microphone for iPhone or iPad is great for vlogging, birding or recording audio. But what if you have an iPhone 7 and need to use the Lightning to headphone adapter? Will you still be able to use an external microphone like the EIM-001? Well, yes, you can. And it works really well.

The only issue I find with the Lightning to headphone adapter cable when using a microphone like the EIM-001, is that the cable is flopping around. This wasn’t an issue with previous generation iPhones because we could plug the external microphone directly into the iPhone headphone jack.

Anyway, it is what it is, right? If you want to connect an external microphone to an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, then you need to use the Lightning to headphone adapter cable. The great thing is that it works perfectly with our Edutige microphones.

Let me know if you have any questions about what microphone to choose for your device or situation.

Video Content Marketing - Why People Want to do Business with People

No matter what business you are in, you have to do business with people. And most of the time, it’s your relationship with people that determines how well your business performs. That’s why using videos can be such a powerful tool. Videos allow customers and prospects to get to know you and, hopefully, like you before, while and after they do business with you. Video content marketing lets you put a face to your business that customers can identify with and feel a sense of rapport with. Videos with you in them help your business separate itself from the many faceless companies people normally deal with.

It’s well-known that people like doing business with people they know, like and trust and video marketing gives you a powerful tool build and maintain that relationship.

Check out the video for more info and let me know your thoughts on what video can do to build relationships.
