3 Reasons Why Short Marketing Videos Make Sense

I like making money as much as the next person, but what I don’t like is having people give me more money than they really should. I know that sounds crazy but I’d rather earn your trust than make an extra few bucks. https://youtu.be/EtkmqQ4g2-Y

And it’s why I always try to get my clients to keep their marketing videos short. The three reasons why short marketing videos, such as explainer videos, how to videos, testimonial videos, or any other videos are:

1. Forces you to be clear and concise with your message

A big mistake many companies make is they try to squeeze in too much, rather than being focused on what the target audience actually needs to hear. A shorter video forces you to be precise with your message.

2. Audience retention

No explanation needed for this one, I would think.

3. Money

Longer videos cost more because of the time involved, which does not necessarily translate into more effective videos. Keeping your videos short saves money, meaning you can spend money on additional videos or other forms of promotion.

The Best Length for Tutorial Videos

A common dilemma we face when making video content marketing material is video length. Recently, someone asked about how long a tutorial video should be so I wanted to address that. https://youtu.be/KdX6mdzQNFs

In my opinion, it’s not so much how long the video is as much as it’s about how concise the information within the tutorial video is.

My biggest problem is when a tutorial video wastes time (mine!) and doesn’t just get to the point. Or even worse is when I don’t learn what I thought I was going to learn.

It’s no wonder my favourite thing about YouTube is the speed control!

So it’s totally cool to make longer tutorial videos, but remember to be organized, stay on point and don’t waste time.
